Extended practice of Ashtanga Primary Series

We warmly invite all yoga practitioners to join us in experiencing the transformative power of the full Ashtanga Primary Series in its original form. This dynamic practice is designed to cleanse the body, calm the mind, and cultivate a deep sense of discipline and awareness.

Ashtanga yoga is a system of breath-synchronized movement (vinyasa) that connects a specific sequence of postures, creating a flowing and meditative practice. Rooted in ancient tradition and popularized by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, it emphasizes the union of breath (ujjayi), focus (drishti), and internal energy locks (bandhas). These elements work together to build strength, flexibility, and balance, both physically and mentally.

The Primary Series is the foundation of Ashtanga yoga, consisting of a set sequence of postures that detoxify the body, improve alignment, and enhance overall well-being.

Whether you are a seasoned Ashtanga practitioner or new to the system, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic essence of yoga. Join us and embrace the challenge, discipline, and joy that comes with practicing the full Ashtanga Primary Series.

Lara was introduced to yoga in 2002 by a newly certified friend who needed practice students. Over the next several years she ventured in and out of the practice as well as different styles until she found her "home" in Vinyasa and Ashtanga traditions. In 2011 she completed her 200 Hour with Be Luminous with a primary focus in Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa, and Slow Flow. Lara has spent the last 3 years studying with her teacher Tiffany Cruickshank and Yoga Medicine, a school that is an adjunct to eastern and western medicine with a yogic component. In August, 2018 Lara completed her 500 hour advanced studies having added yin, restorative, myofascial release, therapeutics, internal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, orthopedics, and cadaver dissection studies to her training experiences. Lara is also registered as a Therapeutic Specialist and has continued with her 1000 hour studies through Yoga Medicine.

In addition to teaching she is the co-founder of Yogalab Northwest, a community inspired organization that hosts international yoga teachers in the Seattle area. YLNW has hosted Sri Dharma Mittra, Kino Macgregor, Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruickshank, Chris Chavez, Amy Ippoliti, Carmen Aguilar.

Lara has completed 75 hours of Advanced Teacher Training with Jason Crandell, 50 hours of Advanced Therapeutics and Teacher Training with Amy Ippoliti, 25 hours with Sri Dharma Mittra, 40 hours with Kino Macgregor, and 25 hours of assisting with Lisa Black.

FAQs

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP?

You need to have healthy wrists and shoulders to join this workshop. You will build strength over time during the training. However, if you are recovering shoulder or wrist injuries, please reach out to us for clarification.

SHOULD I RESERVE A SPOT UPFRONT?

Please reserve a spot as early as you can because our facility is a boutique studio where we respect personal space and limit the number of participants to make sure everyone is seen and have enough space to practice.

We offer early bird discounts and discounts for our studio members.

In case you decided to join the workshop but it is already full please sign up for the waitlist and reach to the studio via info@solaryouyoga.com. In case some participants will have to skip it we will reach out to you with the invitation. We will fully refund to waitlist participants if they did not get their spot in the workshop.
