Backbends are not about flexibility. They’re about intelligence, strength, and trust in your body. And gradual preparation of the entire body through understanding of the anatomy and regular practice drills.
In this workshop, Olivia will break down backbends step by step, building the strength and stability that allow real opening to happen without compression or fear.
Expect smart preparation, progressive sequences, and focused work on shoulders, hips, and spinal support. You’ll explore a range of backbends from foundational to more advanced with options that meet you where you are and challenge you to go further safely.

Backbends are often misunderstood as “advanced” or purely flexible poses. In reality, they are a foundational movement pattern that supports spinal health, breathing, organ function, and emotional resilience at any age and in any training style.
In this workshop, we’ll explore backbends as a practice of longevity, not performance. Through intelligent preparation and progressive sequencing, you’ll build the strength and stability that allow the spine to extend safely and sustainably without compression, strain, or fear.

spinal integrity and disc health
healthy shoulder and hip extension
breath capacity and rib cage mobility
nervous system balance and energy
You’ll work with a range of backbends from accessible foundational shapes to deeper expressions with clear options for different bodies, ages, and levels of experience. Whether you practice yoga, strength training, endurance sports, or simply want to move and breathe better, this work supports lifelong mobility and vitality.
Expect smart sequencing, thoughtful alignment cues, and time to integrate what you learn so you leave not just more open, but more confident and informed in your practice.

Olivia has always been a seeker. Growing up between tall skyscrapers in Seattle, Washington, she was always looking for meaning, symbols, and secrets hidden in the world around her.
Her first yoga class she attended at 13 years old was where she caught a glimpse of these vast and divine moments of truth. Since then, under the guidance of her own teachers and mentors, her practice has evolved, unfolded and continues to do so each day.
After 12 years of study and practice, she holds a 500-hour yoga certification with extensive studies in yogic philosophy, pranayama, mudra yoga and Reiki. Through her curiosity and quest towards something deeper, her yoga practice has guided and expanded her passions in meditation, holistic medicine, sound healing and mantra recitation.
Olivia believes that a sincere commitment to Ahimsā (non-violence) keeps us on a direct path towards inner peace. As such, all of her work including her classes, trainings, retreats, and workshops, stem from this foundational and loving principle. Her teaching emphasizes yoga in its full, eight-limb spectrum, supporting her students towards inner stillness and transformation.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP?
Workshop is designed for everyone at any level of flexibility to learn how to practice towards backbends. however, if you have any spine or shoulder injuties please get approval of your doctor prior to signing to the workshop.

Please reserve a spot as early as you can because our facility is a boutique studio where we respect personal space and limit the number of participants to make sure everyone is seen and have enough space to practice.
