Yin Yoga Training - 500 HR Teacher Training Program

The 50 hours training can be applied towards the Viveka Yoga 500 hour Advanced Yoga Training, continuing education, or for personal enrichment. If you are interested in the full scope of advanced trainings that qualify for the Viveka Yoga 500 hour or continuing education please visit our website for more information.

This immersive 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training offers a comprehensive exploration of the principles, philosophy, and practice of Yin Yoga. Rooted in the widely respected teachings of Bernie Clark and Sarah Powers, the program emphasizes functional anatomy, skillful use of props, and intelligent sequencing for long-held, passive postures. Guided by senior Yin educator Pamela Chang, trainees develop a clear understanding of how and why Yin poses work, and learn to cue from intention rather than external shape. This approach supports safer, more inclusive classes and empowers teachers to adapt Yin Yoga to the unique needs of each body. An integral component of the training is led by Dikla Kafka, who weaves in Dao Yin–influenced practices that both complement and expand traditional Yin Yoga. These sessions introduce subtle internal techniques such as breath-guided awareness, imagery, visualization, and gentle energetic inquiry. Together, these tools cultivate nervous system regulation, embodied presence, and deep listening—essential qualities for holding space in stillness-based practices. Throughout the training, participants are invited to balance structure with spaciousness, anatomical clarity with inner awareness, and practical teaching skills with contemplative depth. The result is a richly layered learning experience that supports authenticity, adaptability, and confidence in teaching Yin Yoga.

Who This Training Is For? This program is well suited for:

  • Yoga teachers (new or experienced)

  • Bodyworkers and acupuncturists

  • Mental health professionals and caregivers

  • Educators and movement professionals

  • Dedicated practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of Yin Yoga

No prior teaching experience is required. Through experiential practice, inquiry, and reflection, participants gain refined tools to skillfully guide Yin Yoga classes that are grounded, responsive, and deeply informed.
